Incorporating Kahoot! into lessonsI have incorporated Kahoot! quizzes into a number of my lesson plans (see my blog posts for more information), but you can use any online quiz tool to achieve similar effects. My preference for Kahoot! comes from the positive experiences I have had using it to date. |
Lesson Plan
|
Click here for an example of a lesson plan focusing on the topic of interviews. The entire plan is designed for a 50-60 minute lesson, and you will see Stage 7 highlighted where Kahoot! is used. Further resources I created for the rest of this lesson plan can be found at the bottom of this page. If you would like to incorporate a homework challenge for your class using Kahoot!, simply click the challenge button on an existing quiz, or one you have created. There is a great blog post on the Kahoot! website that discusses the benefits of this.

Learner Aims |
The overall lesson aims are for pre-intermediate level students to learn interview vocabulary, to enable learners to talk about themselves, and to use natural responses. In the lead-up to the Kahoot! activity, opinion language is practiced in an interview context. The Kahoot! activity is then used to test the learners' knowledge of using natural responses to questions. Incorporating an interactive online quiz adds interest and energy towards the end of the first hour of the lesson. The competitive element of the quiz aims to encourage learner engagement, assisted further by the visual element.
